Retrospective October 2020 October was a very different month. I explored new ideas, Fantasy Congress finally got some press, and I was a guest on not one but two podcasts! Can’t say I made a lot of progress, but it was busy nonetheless.
Retrospective September 2020 For the first time ever, I hit over $1k of revenue in one month! I dabbled in lots of different marketing efforts, but Facebook is still my highest performer. Even though I had a spectacular month, I'm wondering what to do next.
Retrospective August 2020 August was really slow. Though traffic to the site was up 40% from last month, revenue dropped 26%. My attempts at outreach were more successful than previous months, but they did not produce more purchases.
Retrospective July 2020 Not the month I expected, but the month I needed. July was full of distractions and I spent much of my heads down time learning new skills. Didn’t feel super productive, but revenue doubled from last month regardless.
Retrospective June 2020 Finally I have some of the boring stuff out of the way. Core features for educators are shipped and hopefully I can transition to working on other skills, like sales and product-market fit.
Retrospective May 2020 So much happened this month I’m not sure how to put it all into one cohesive blog post. I didn't reach all of my goals, but made big gains regardless.
Retrospective April 2020 April resulted in an 18% increase in MRR and only one churn. But the most unexpected part? My site traffic is waaay down. It's clear I need to interview my latest customers to get a better understanding of who they are and how people are finding Fantasy Congress.
Retrospective March 2020: This is the strangest timeline I’m still wrapping my head around everything that happened this past month, but thankfully, not much has changed for me personally. I’m incredibly lucky. And I’m doubly lucky that Fantasy Congress is fairly impervious to the COVID-19 rollercoaster.
Retrospective February 2020: Shipped it! I wasn’t sure what to expect for the launch of Fantasy Congress 2.0. When I shipped my MVP in 2018, I had 20 people on my mailing list and the platform was completely free. This time I had 1,900 people on my list and I was charging.
